Important: Citizens of certain countries can enter the USA with an electronic travel authorization (ESTA). Other citizens must apply for a visa in their passport at the American Embassy in Vienna.
ESTA VISA
Electronic travel authorization for stays of up to 90 days. Valid for 2 years.
The ESTA visa is available to the following nationalities:

- Hungary.
Important: Even if you are a citizen of one of the countries listed above, you cannot apply for ESTA if:
- Your ESTA application has previously been denied
- You intend to work in the USA (including unpaid internships, which are also considered work)
- You plan to study or attend a language course with more than 18 hours of instruction per week
- You have visited Sudan, Syria, Iran, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, or Iraq since March 2011
- You have visited Cuba since January 2021
- You are entering the USA via private aircraft or private vessel

Tourist / Business Visa (B1/B2)
Non-immigrant visa. Required for citizens of countries that do not participate in the Visa Waiver Program.
The visa must be applied for at the US Embassy in Vienna, and you must attend an interview at the embassy.

Student Visa (F1)
For a language stay or studies in the USA with more than 18 hours of instruction per week, you need a student visa (F1).
