Visas for all countries

A visa is required in all cases for entry into Myanmar. The visa can be obtained either through the Consulate of Myanmar in Vienna or via electronic application.

Important: Austrian citizens receive a Visa on Arrival when entering through the following airports: Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay with a maximum stay of 30 days.

Visa in Passport:

The following documents are required for us to obtain a Myanmar visa on your behalf:

Tourist Visa

• Original passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the departure date with 2 free pages)
• 1 passport photo (must be original, color, white/non-colored background, photo paper)
• Completed and signed visa application form
• Flight and hotel booking confirmation (or travel booking confirmation)
• Current registration certificate/proof of residence (not older than 3 months) (applies to non-Austrian citizens)
• Order form for ARC Consulting (ONLINE / PDF)

Business Visa:

• Original passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the departure date with 2 free pages)
• 1 passport photo (must be original, color, white/non-colored background, photo paper)
• Completed and signed visa application form
• Hotel and flight booking confirmation (outbound and return)
• Cover letter from the sending company (must include the purpose and duration of the trip, the company's business profile, the applicant's position, contact details of the company being visited in Myanmar, and confirmation of cost coverage)
• Invitation from the business partner in Myanmar (must contain information about the traveler and the purpose of the trip)
• Current registration certificate/proof of residence (not older than 3 months) (applies to non-Austrian citizens)
• Order form for ARC Consulting (ONLINE / PDF)

Important: The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. The maximum stay is 28 days (tourism) or 70 days (business). Entry may also take place on the last day of the visa's validity.

Electronic E-Visa

Austrian and EU citizens can apply for an electronic visa to enter Myanmar.

Advantages:

• Issued within 1 day
• Passport and other documents do not need to be sent in original form

Important:

• Maximum stay is 28 days (tourist) or 70 days (business)
• The visa is valid for only 90 days from the date of issue
• The e-Visa is valid for 1 entry
• The visa may be refused without explanation. In this case, a new visa application must be submitted through the embassy. The e-Visa fees cannot be refunded.

With the e-Visa, entry is only permitted through certain border crossings (see below):

Prices:

Standard Tourist (3–4 days): EUR 80 (plus the cost of mandatory insurance, depending on the duration of stay, available on request) 

Standard Business (3–4 days): EUR 80 (plus the cost of mandatory insurance, depending on the duration of stay, available on request)
