Visa facilitations for China (business, work, study, family reunification).
Travelers from Austria who intend to travel to China to resume work and production no longer require a PU letter when applying for an M business visa or an F visit visa, according to an announcement by the Chinese Embassy in Vienna.
Those intending to work in China and applying for a Z visa only need a valid “Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit” or the original “Foreigner’s Work Permit.” Their spouses, parents, children under 18, and parents-in-law can apply for an S visa for family reunification and do not require an invitation letter.
Those planning to travel to China for economic, trade, scientific, or technological purposes and applying for an M visa or F visa also no longer need a PU letter.
Foreign family members of Chinese citizens or foreign family members of foreigners with permanent residence status in China (i.e., spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, children’s spouses, brothers and sisters, grandparents, and grandchildren) may apply for a Q visa for family reunification.
Applicants for the above-mentioned visa categories are generally required to have received at least two COVID-19 vaccinations.
