The fee is expected to be $250 and could be introduced as early as the beginning of 2026. If implemented, the total cost of applying for a U.S. tourist or student visa would increase to $435.

The so-called Visa Integrity Fee would apply to all types of non-immigrant visas, including B1/B2 categories. It is expected that the fee could be refunded if the applicant uses the visa properly and does not violate the terms of stay – for example, by not working illegally. The exact rules regarding collection and reimbursement of this fee have not yet been finalized.
