The USA are planning stricter ESTA requirements
Representatives of the tourism industry are warning that planned changes to U.S. entry regulations could create additional hurdles for international travelers.
A proposal published in December in the Federal Register by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) suggests requiring applicants under the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) to disclose their social media activity from the past five years.
An ESTA approval is required for short-term stays for citizens of 41 visa-exempt countries. At present, providing social media information is still optional.
