A few months before the full rollout of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) program, scheduled for February 25, 2026, UK authorities have released new data on the effectiveness of this immigration tool.

Between the initial launch of the system in October 2023 and September 2025, a total of 19.6 million electronic travel authorizations were issued. The ETA applies to individuals who are not British citizens, do not require a visa for short stays, and do not hold immigration status in the United Kingdom.
