Thailand opens Bangkok and 4 additional regions for tourists from November 1.
The following regions will be open to foreign visitors in November:
– Bangkok
– Chiang Mai (districts Muang, Mae Rim, Mae Taeng, and Doi Tao)
– Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin district)
– Phetchaburi (Cha-am district)
– Chonburi (Pattaya, Ban Lamung, and Sattahip districts)
Entry into any open region of Thailand is only possible under the “Sandbox” program, which requires a mandatory 7-day stay in the designated entry area. After that, travelers are allowed to move freely throughout the country.
Starting November 1, foreign tourists will replace the Certificate of Entry (COE) with the “Thai Pass,” according to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, in the initial phase, the COE will still be used for those undergoing quarantine (AHQ) as well as for arrivals by land or sea.
The introduction of the “Thai Pass” is intended to speed up and simplify the submission of entry documents, which can be downloaded approximately 7 days before travel.
You can apply for any type of Thailand visa at any time via Visacenter.at.
