Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay from 60 to 30 Days
Thailand has officially published new entry regulations abolishing its current 60-day visa-free program. From September 15, 2026, citizens of 60 countries and territories — including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia — will be permitted to enter the country without a visa for up to 30 days. Nationals of two countries will receive a 15-day visa-free stay, while three countries retain visa-on-arrival eligibility.
The regulations were published in the Royal Gazette on August 31, 2026, and take effect 15 days after publication. Current rules therefore remain in place through September 14, with the new provisions coming into force on September 15, 2026.
