Starting September 1, 2025, foreign nationals entering Laos will be required to complete an online arrival and departure form no earlier than three days before crossing the border.

In the first phase, the system will be introduced at four international border points:

  • Wattay International Airport (Vientiane)
  • Luang Prabang Airport
  • Pakse Airport (Champasak Province)
  • First Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge (Vientiane – Nong Khai)

According to the immigration authorities, the pilot phase is intended to test the digital platform before it is gradually expanded to all border checkpoints nationwide. By 2026, the system is expected to be implemented countrywide.

If you are planning a trip to Laos, you will need a visa as well as the above-mentioned Immigration Arrival Register Confirmation. VisaCenter will handle the application for you and help you avoid unnecessary hassle.
