Japan confirms the name for its new entry system
At a press conference on May 23, Japan’s Minister of Justice, Keisuke Suzuki, announced a number of significant measures to strengthen immigration controls. Among other things, he confirmed the introduction of a new electronic travel authorization system, which has officially been named JESTA.
The JESTA system (Japan Electronic System for Travel Authorization) will be used for the pre-screening of foreign travelers who wish to enter Japan without a visa. It had previously been informally referred to as the “Japanese equivalent of ESTA” – the U.S. system that has been in force since 2009 and served as a model for the Japanese version.
If you have always dreamed of a trip to Japan, you can easily make this wish come true. VisaCenter will take care of your Japan visa and spare you unnecessary difficulties.
