India extends visa validity period
Until recently, the 30-day electronic tourist visa for India was subject to strict restrictions: applications could only be submitted within 30 days before entry. However, since Thursday, December 18, this period has been extended to four months. On the official Indian e-visa portal indianvisaonline.gov.in, applicants can now specify an entry date within 120 days.
This change applies only to electronic travel authorizations (ETA) issued from this date onward and is not retroactive. It allows travelers to plan their trips earlier and complete administrative formalities in advance, while the conditions for short-term tourist visas remain unchanged. The measure is particularly welcomed by foreign tourists who plan their trips well in advance.
