Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the need to speed up the introduction of an electronic visa (e-visa) as a key step in modernizing border control authorities. The initiative is part of a broader program to digitally transform border management systems.

In his speech, he urged the relevant ministries to join forces to expand digital solutions nationwide, giving particular priority to the introduction of the e-visa system, which has already been in development for several years.
