The reduced visa fees introduced in December 2023, aimed at lowering travel costs for foreign tourists, were originally set for one year and had already been extended once until December 31, 2025. They will now remain in effect even longer. Last week, Chinese authorities officially confirmed that the visa fee reduction will be extended until December 31, 2026.

This decision follows the recently approved extension of the exemption from fingerprint collection requirements for short-term visas, which is also valid until the end of 2026. Taken together, these measures are intended to make travel to China more attractive and affordable for international tourists.
