On February 15, 2026, China officially confirmed the expansion of its unilateral visa exemption policy to citizens of Canada and the United Kingdom.

Since February 17, 2026, holders of regular passports from Canada and the UK are allowed to stay in China visa-free for up to 30 days. The policy, confirmed by the Chinese government, will remain in effect until December 31, 2026.

Last month, representatives from Canada and the United Kingdom stated that visa-free entry for their citizens has been operating smoothly. This weekend, the measure was once again officially confirmed by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
