Canada reopens its borders.
Canada has reopened its borders to foreign tourists. As of September 7, 2021, travelers are allowed to enter for non-essential reasons, provided they are fully vaccinated.
The reopening comes 18 months after the country significantly restricted international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the easing of border controls, only passengers with essential travel reasons, as well as Canadian citizens and residents, were allowed to enter Canada.
The country had only recently reopened its borders with the United States to fully vaccinated travelers. Now, Canada has extended these measures to visitors from the rest of the world.
Tourists from countries around the world can enter Canada as long as they have the proper travel authorization and are fully vaccinated.
This means that foreign visitors can enter the country if they have received the full dose of an approved vaccine and have obtained the appropriate authorization, such as a Canadian eTA or a visa in their passport. You can apply for both types of visas at any time via Visacenter.at.
